POST GRADUATE / COLLEGIATE

All Ability Levels Welcome 

For high school graduates and college level Nordic skiers, choose from Year-Round, Summer and Winter sessions, but athletes can join anytime it is convenient for school and life schedules.  

This program consists of six structured workouts per week with the MEA team spread over four days. There are two designated OYO (On Your Own) days and one off day for recovery each week. Training, appropriate to seasonal conditions, includes skiing, mountain running, hiking, ski walking, roller skiing, track workouts, games, and mountain/road biking, with two strength sessions in the afternoons/mornings on training days.

Opportunities to register for camps and race trips are available. 

Montana Endurance Academy carefully plans (with safety in mind) activities with balanced intensity and volume, while providing individual attention to each athlete and their athletic development in a supportive team atmosphere.  

Training Details: 

  • Structured training program led by coaches with over 40 years of national and international experience, and educated with MS in Exercise Physiology and Sports Science 

  • Training plan to help you achieve your personal goals 

  • Technique coaching and video analysis 

  • Seasonal meetings to discuss physical and mental training, technique progression, and nutrition needs 

  • Four outdoor training sessions per week with the MEA team - locations in Bozeman and nearby traiheads 

  • Strength training 2x week - *requires athlete to sign up at PLANET FITNESS ($49 year membership fee +$10/month) 

  • Field testing and time trials 

  • Racing opportunities, regionally, nationally, and internationally (year-round program) 

  • Waxing and racing coordination and support (year-round program) 

  • A team atmosphere with other dedicated post graduate athletes 

  • Possible shared housing opportunities with other athletes

  • One week builds up on the next as we move through periodization training blocks encompassing recovery, volume, and intensity training. This schedule aims to prepare you for your best ski season within an enjoyable and team-oriented environment.

    Our summer and fall sessions include a variety of activities such as hiking, ski bounding, trail running, mountain biking, track workouts, and roller skiing. With the onset of winter, typically around early to mid-November, we transition to Nordic skiing. Our winter curriculum integrates ski instruction, racing techniques, and both endurance and interval ski training.

    This year-round program not only fosters peak athletic development but also cultivates enduring friendships and teamwork.

    An optional, but recommended, on-snow ski camp is held over Thanksgiving week in Canmore, Canada. See Camp & Race in main navigation for more information.

    When race season starts we provide complete team support, including coaching and race waxing services for local and national races, as well as USSA Senior National competitions.

    Please note, there will be a three-week break in the program from August 15th to September 4th.
